THE DOLL MAKER BOOK
Design Concept
The Doll Maker is a murder mystery and romantic suspense novel, which I recently discovered in Amazon. As a lover of romance and mysteries, I sought to redesign the book's case, which needed an eye-catching illustration to attract new readers. The plot of the story revolves around a psycho killer who kidnaps women and turns them into real life dolls. It is up to an estranged couple to solve the mystery.

Objective
By using my drawing skills, re-create the cover for this book in order to give the book a mysterious feel, showing how the dolls appear in the story to engage the reader's interest. Design an audiobook version of the book for non-readers who prefer to listen to the story.
Target Audience
My target audience consists primarily of non-readers with an interest in well written stories, as well as readers who enjoy mysteries and suspense stories. The age range is primarily from young teens to adults.
My Duty
Digital Illustration, Book Cover Design, UX UI Design for audiobook.
Original Book
In its original version, the book cover featured an image of a woman lying in a forest, achieving the concept of mystery but without revealing the full extent of the story's horror. While the book's approach is generally rated G, this book contains a darker story, therefore it did not achieve the mark of how much more interesting the story is. Additionally, the image of the book is not so captivating for potential readers, except for the title which summarizes the plot. There was also a lack of hierarchy for the font size of the title of the book and that of the author, since both titles were the same size and competing for the reader's attention.

Inspiration
My inspiration were books that display these creepy images of dolls that provide me with most of my inspiration. The idea was to provide the reader with a straight-forward look at the story so they can determine the type of story they are seeing, which is a mystery story.
Painting
I chose to incorporate an old painting that I did years ago because it conveyed the primary image I was seeking. In the painting, realistic doll-like figures are depicted with a mysterious aura that conveys sadness. The illustration captures the essence of the narrative.
